8-inch Powered Subwoofer
Remote Control
In combination with the blue status LED, the remote control allows you to adjust your subwoofer without getting up from your seat. The 4 way phase selector allows easy blending to your main speakers. It also gives you full control of PRO Room correcting features.
Blue Status LED
Provides you useful feedback when adjusting settings on your subwoofer. The blue light matches today's high tech electronics and can be turned off.
Night Mode
Yes, we realize your DSW Series sub has the colossal power to wake the house and neighbors. That's why we provide Night Mode so the subwoofer operates at less intensity.
Polk Room Optimizer™ (PRO)
The room and the sub's position are the second weakest link in the chain and are often ignored. Instead of "one size fits all" of other subs, PRO corrects for different positions of the subwoofer throughout the room with 4 presets accessible from the remote.
Feed Forward™ Anti-Distortion Technology
Turn any speaker or subwoofer too loud and it'll distort. Instead of using an unintelligent, performance limiting "brick wall" limiter or an antiquated servo feedback system that reduces distortion after it's already occured, Feed Forward addresses distortion head-on before it happens while maximizing. The result is bulletproof reliability with ultra-pure performance. Click here for a technical explanation.
Klippel Optimized Woofer
By using a state-of-the-art Klippel Distortion Analyzer, Polk engineers were able to optimize the woofer's motor structure, voice coil alignment and suspension bringing you the best possible performance even at extreme listening levels. Click here for a technical explanation
Forward OR Down Firing Configurations
DSW PRO subwoofers are modular meaning their feet can be rearranged to configure the subwoofer in either standard downward firing or front firing mode. Transform the subwoofer into front firing setup by attaching the feet on the back and adding the optional grille. Now you can tuck the subwoofer into a cabinet without hurting the sound.
Slot Loaded Port
With significantly more surface area than a traditional circular port, this design means gobs of low-end output without unwanted air chuffing noises.
Cabinet
Extensively braced MDF eliminates unwanted cabinet boom bringing you tight and controlled bass. The enclosure is a durable onyx black finish, which is also paintable. Give the sub the "knuckle test" and see how solidly they're built.
Woofer Design & Technology
The robust woofer is the powerhouse behind DSW microPRO subwoofers and borrows a host of innovative technology from our top of the line Signature Reference Mobile Series.
Basket
Basket is cast aluminum instead of inferior stamped steel as seen from other companies. What this means for you is an extremely rigid frame that will not flex when handling the 1200 watt amplifier. Special vents in the basket allow air circulation to keep the voice coil cool.
Cone
Inverted dust cap and surround- unique shape with reinforcement provide extreme stiffness. The cone matches the finish of the cabinet and eliminates the need for any grille. Gloss black for the 4000, 3000, 2000 and black satin for the microPRO 1000. For further cone rigidity, attached to the woofer's drive mechanism via 4.5" diameter ABS Cone coupler.
Magnets
Double stacked magnets give the woofer incredible power, maximizing the magnetic strength of the woofer's drive mechanism.
Surround & Spiders
Inverted rubber surround controls the woofer and allows incredible travel and will not break down, even after relentless pounding. Dual spiders on both the woofer AND passive radiator allow linear woofer control even at maximum volumes.
